Mi
OPINIÓN sobre este hotel: Lo elijo para pasar una noche durante nuestro
recorrido de 2 días por el País Vasco Francés. Acierto plenamente ya que la
ubicación es estupenda, en pleno centro histórico, a pocos metros del Castillo
Viejo, de la Catedral de Santa María y de la Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
Si
tenemos ganas y tiempo de hacer compras, justo enfrente hay unas Galerías
Lafayette.
El
edificio es antiguo y con solera, con fachada blanca y típico tejado de
pizarra.

En algún sitio leo que antaño fue un convento. Tiene un patio interior alrededor del cual están dispuestas las habitaciones.
Están haciendo obras en
recepción y está todo un poco manga por hombro hasta que las terminen, pero
seguro que cuando acaben quedará bien.
El
ascensor mantiene su exterior antiguo, me gustan este tipo de ascensores, si
bien la cabina y la maquinaria son modernas.

La
habitación tiene un tamaño aceptable, ni muy amplia ni demasiado pequeña, con
buena climatización. La cama es muy cómoda.

El baño está totalmente renovado y muy limpio. La zona del lavabo es pequeñita pero, a cambio, el plato de ducha es grande y con mampara.

Sobre el desayuno no puedo opinar, ya que preferimos disfrutar de un “sublime” chocolate en el emblemático establecimiento Cazenave, pero esa es otra historia.
My OPINION about this hotel: I choose it to spend one night during our tour of 2 days in the French Basque Country. The location is great, in the historic center, few meters from the Old Castle City Council Square
If we want and have time to shop, Galeries Lafayette are just in front.
The building is old and with character, with typical white facade and slate roof. I read somewhere that it was once a convent. There is an inner courtyard around which the rooms are arranged.

They are renewing the reception area and
everything is turned upside down, but it will sure look good when it is finished.
The elevator
maintains its old exterior, I like this type of lift, while the cabin and the
machinery are modern.
The room has
an acceptable size, neither too large nor too small, with good air conditioning.
The bed is very comfortable.
The bathroom
is fully renovated and very clean. The sink area is tiny but in return, the
shower cubicle is large.

Over breakfast
I can not comment, since we prefer to enjoy a "sublime" hot chocolat in
the landmark establishment Cazenave, but that's another story.
